Whenever someone asks me to share a recipe IRL, I blog it up… this is my current lasagne recipe. I like it because it is easy and versitile (i.e. I can change it up regularly by changing the veggies I use for it).

So, since biking is my new favourite transport, I had to notice this article. Somehow I’ve been so busy that I hadn’t heard about the accident mentioned there. I hate riding on the road, always have.
As an avid walker, too… I can say that cars at Preston and Scott have recently stopped waiting for pedestrians before they turn left. I have been nearly mowed down three times in three days a few weeks ago.
Hey, drivers!… pay attention!!!

On Saturday afternoon my mother was visiting and she peered through the rain into our garden and exclaimed, “you have a nice little chipmunk.” Now, I profess that I’ve heard about the chipmunk, though not seen him myself. I had seen the field mouse quite a bit though.
But on Sunday morning I decided to garden a bit and just laze around and saw a little head looking at me through the opening at the bottom of the fence. Well hello! A rabbit!!! (I thought). Which of course would explain why someone had eaten all of the leaves off the wild flowers (though not the cultivated ones).
Right?
Wrong.
After I settled down to read, I found myself confronted by one very scared gopher. After much tooing and frowing, he decided we weren’t going to harm him and calmed down a bit.
He’s cute. But he’s a gopher (or or maybe he’s a groundhog?). And he’s eating all the leaves up!

It’s official. My new favourite way to get to work is to bike. Takes me 5-10 minutes, I get some exercise, environmentally friendly and I don’t have to wait in line.
Perfect.

Canada has had a policy to give asylum to women who have been victims of physical and / or mental abuse in countries where there is no societal mechanism for justice and protection of their rights for 20 years…
and the US is just thinking about it *now*!?! (and also see this for more detail
Honestly, the woman around which this case is built should have just come to Canada (or Sweden, which has a similar policy)
