The 20-Second Hug
OK, so I really don’t think you can stereotype the male and the female brain this way. although I do think they are wired differently, I disagree that it’s quite so cut and dried. I know men who’s emotional brains are 8-lane highways … & some women who’s emotions are a single lane country road (i.e. straightforward). So why have I copied this? I believe in the power of hug & I like it when she says…
Research shows that the female brain naturally releases oxytocin after a 20-second hug. The embrace bonds the huggers and triggers the brain’s trust circuits. So Brizendine advises, don’t let a guy hug you unless you plan to trust him.
“And if you do,” she said, “make sure it lasts 20 seconds.”
So if you’re going to hug me, make sure it lasts for at least 20 seconds!
